Farm description

It's planting time at Wagner's Farmland Experience. The whole family gets in to the spirit of the season by rolling up their shirt sleeves, grabbing shovels and rakes or jumping on the tractor.  The maze fields are then planted with corn and pumpkins and the perimeter area is planted with rows of colorful flowers that will add their seasonal glory to the corn maze. The Wagners Farmland Experience is celebrating the Wagner family's 100th year of farming the middle Rio Grande valley. The family farms are located in Corrales and Socorro and are known for their popular chile products as well as delicious orchard fruits and other seasonal crops.  So what does a farmer do to celebrate 100 years? He acquires another farm to guarantee farming for the next 100 years!

That's right, Jimmy and Roxanne Wagner have big plans for the 287 acres in Los Lunas, formerly known as the Grasslands. The property is conveniently located off Interstate 25 with panoramic views and plenty of space to expand the Farmland Experience. The three year plan will include field and orchard crops, a large, seasonal corn maze, pumpkin patch, petting zoo, demonstration garden, a park with duck pond, play areas, bee hives, hayrides and an educational center so children can learn about farming in New Mexico.  Visit our slideshow to see the all the progress we've made.

What can you expect this year?
